It is situated in the western area of the North Atlantic and 100 kilometers (62 mi) east of the Windward Islands and the Caribbean Sea; therein, it is about 168 kilometers east of the islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and 400 kilometers north-east of Trinidad and Tobago.
Traveling to Barbados
It is just one of those destinations that so many people know and has heard of, but know very little of. Most people that live outside of the Caribbean just generally say it is somewhere within the chain of islands located right above South America. This is completely right, however, Barbados stays a little past east of the Caribbean, just into the Atlantic. In the Lesser Antilles, it is the easternmost island. Geographically, it is situated in the western part of the North Atlantic, east of the Grenadines and St. Vincent. It is estimated to be 150 miles northwest of Trinidad and Tobago, which is located just off the coast of Venezuela.
Tourism in Barbados stands as another fine example of the Atlantic/Caribbean destinations that are little enough to stay secluded, yet have been settled for a long time already by contemporary cultures. There, travelers can be happy with amenities like great culture, local history, shopping, and hotels, as well as a place that is little enough to explore for a couple of days.
